Alfred University bested by Utica, 74-43

ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's basketball team lost, 73-43, to Empire 8 foe Utica College in the Harold T. Clark Athletic Center Friday evening in Utica.
 
With the loss, AU falls to 6-18 overall and 2-13 in Empire 8 play, while the Pioneers improve to 11-14 (7-9 Empire 8).
 
McKaylee Croll (Perry, NY/Perry) led the Saxons with 23 points.  Senior Harley Cleary(Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) supplemented Croll's performance with 23 points while adding six rebounds.  Freshman forward Taylor Kelley (Andover, NY/Andover) fought for the ball in the paint as well, leading the Saxons with eight rebounds.
 
Mary Miceli had 21 points for the Pioneers. Samantha Stayer had eight points and nine rebounds and Bridget Greenwald matcher her eight points while accumulating 11 rebounds.
 
AU continues its road trip on Saturday when they travel to Elmira College to take on the Soaring Eagles at 2PM.
