FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Seniors Olivia Cook and Nani Ostrom finished the final home game of their collegiate careers at Pacific with double-digit scoring efforts, as Ostrom finished with 10 points and Cook tallied 13 in the Boxers' 70-41 loss to No. 4/3 George Fox. George Fox scored the opening points less than 20 seconds into the game as Kylie Dummer scored on a layup. Both teams struggled with misses and turnovers until the 17:49 mark when Cook (Sr., Beaverton, Ore.) scored off an assist from Kelsey Misseldine (Sr., Phoenix, Ariz.). The 2-2 tie was the only tie of the evening as the Bruins led from the 17:03-mark to the final buzzer. The Boxers held the Bruins close in the opening 10-minutes as a Cook Jumper pulled Pacific within four at the 13:38-mark. A steal by Ostrom (Sr., Juneau, Alaska) set-up a made jumper by Sarah Curl (So., Portland, Ore.) putting the scoreline at 10-8 in George Fox's favor. After the Bruins' lead extended to nine points, Ostrom responded to a Nicole Blizzard free throw miss with a 3-pointer, followed by a made jumper from Kaila Johnson (Sr., McKinleyville, Calif.) pulling the Boxers within four with 8:38 left in the period. A Pacific turnover returned the ball to Lauren Codling, who found Dacia Heckendorf for a layup that set the Bruins off on a 14-0 run that ended as Lauren Lykins (Fr., Hillsboro, Ore.) followed a Heckendorf 3-pointer with a jumper at the 1:40-mark. Lykins followed her jumper with a steal and an assist on an Ostrom 3-pointer with 1:22 left in the opening period. After a scoreless minute of play, the Boxers closed out the first period with a Misseldine jumper to pull within 13 at the break. Cook led Pacific at the break with eight points and seven rebounds, while Ostrom sat at six points. Justine Benner of George Fox had a game-high 11 points at halftime. Scoring in the second half did not get started until just over two minutes into the period when Benner scored on a layup. Benner followed her layup with a free throw, which was followed by a pair of makes from the line for Ostrom. Pacific's first field goal of the second half came with 10:37 on the clock as Cook scored off a Lykins assist to bring Pacific within 26. Cook followed her layup with a jumper to cut the George Fox lead to 53-29. After the Bruins' lead reached 32 points with 4:59 left in regulation, Ostrom and Johnson combined for four-straight points to pull Pacific back within 28. A Rachel Martin layup gave the Bruins a 66-36 lead before Pacific outscored the Bruins 5-4 over the final three minutes as George Fox left the Stoller Center with a 70-41 road victory. Benner finished with a game-high 23 points, as she finished with a double-double with 11 rebounds. Codling posted a 14 point and 11 rebound double-double for the Bruins, as well. Pacific was led by Cook's eighth double-double of the season after she scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Ostrom finished with 10 points, giving her 12 double-digit scoring efforts this season. Lykins led Pacific on the defensive end with a career-high five steals. The Boxers wrap-up the regular season on Saturday in Salem, Ore., with a 4 p.m. scheduled tip-off against the Willamette Bearcats.
