BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Olivia Suhr recorded game highs of 26 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots as Brockport upset Cortland, 68-59, in a SUNYAC women's basketball matchup.

The Golden Eagles are now 7-16 overall and 5-11 in the SUNYAC. Cortland fell to 19-5 overall and 13-4 in the league. The Red Dragons need either a win at Oswego in their regular-season finale Friday, or a loss by New Paltz this weekend to either Buffalo State or Fredonia, to clinch the number two spot in the SUNYAC and a bye into the league's tournament semifinals. Otherwise, Cortland would finish third in the conference and host a quarterfinal game next Tuesday.

Rae Frasier (Schenectady) led Cortland with 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Brittney Dumas (Easton, CT/Joel Barlow) finished with 11 points and eight rebounds and Erin Wolstenholme (Oneonta) scored nine points and pulled down six rebounds. Also, Danielle Levine (Holbrook/Sachem North) totaled eight points and eight rebounds and Lindsey Minor (Wheatley Heights/St. John the Baptist) distributed six assists.

Suhr made 8-of-16 shots from the floor and 9-of-11 free throws for the Golden Eagles. Hannah Rehbaum scored 14 points, Faith Welch added eight points, eight rebounds and three assists, and Erin Cunningham chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.

Brockport shot 44 percent from the field and hit 8-of-22 shots from 3-point range. Six different Golden Eagles made at least one 3-pointer. Cortland finished at 36 percent from the floor and only 19 percent (4-of-21) from long range.

Brockport used an 11-0 run to turn an early 17-12 deficit into a 23-17 lead with 6:07 left in the first half. Marissa Pike and Lisa Yacovoni made treys during that run. The Golden Eagles led 32-26 at halftime and extended the lead to 40-28 on a Rehbaum layup three minutes into the second half.

Cortland went on a 10-2 run over the next three minutes and closed to within 42-38 on a Dumas 3-point play with 13:55 remaining. The Red Dragons eventually cut the Brockport lead to 48-47 with 10:30 left on a Dumas layup but never tied the game.

The hosts eventually opened the lead to nine points at 60-51 on Suhr's layup with 5:25 left. Brittany Rando (Owego/Owego Free Academy) hit back-to-back jumpers to reduce the margin to five, but Alyssa Rusinko buried a 3-pointer with 3:49 left. Cortland eventually drew back within five with 16 seconds left before Brockport hit four free throws to finish the scoring.
