BROCKPORT, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior forward Allison McKenna scored a season-high 19 points while senior forward Shannon McGinnis added eight points and 10 rebounds to lead the Knights to a 74-45 victory at Brockport in State University of New York Athletic Conferene (SUNYAC) women's basketball, Friday night.

McGinnis became Geneseo's all-time leading rebounder, passing Kristin Raines '94 (869), with 875 to date. McGinnis also currently stands sixth in career points with 1275 and is 36 points shy of passing Erin Malone '94 (1311) for fifth all-time.

"The coaching staff and I challenged the team prior to the game to bring a strong effort on the road and they did," said head coach Scott Hemer. "They committed to rebounding at both ends of the floor and worked hard as a unit defensively. It was great to see Allison (McKenna) be more of a commanding presence in the low post and Shannon's (McGinnis) recording-breaking night is reflective of her work ethic and high motor that ultimately drives her success and the team's as well."

Tied at five with 16:48 on the clock, Geneseo went on an 11-0 run capped by a jumper from McGinnis to take a 16-5 lead with 11:26 remaining in the first half.

At 6:52, junior guard Dana Cohan made a shot from long-range to give the Knights a 14-point advantage, 23-9. Cohan finished the night with 10 points and a season-high eight assists.

With just under two minutes to play in the first half, senior guard Biz Reinhardt hit a lay-up to give Geneseo its largest lead of the period, 34-15, as the Knights were up 37-20 over the Golden Eagles (5-14, 3-9 SUNYAC) at halftime. Reinhardt totaled eight points and four rebounds in the win.

Geneseo controlled the remainder of the game, jumping out to a 41-22 lead after another three-pointer from Cohan at 16:15. Back-to-back lay-ups by McGinnis brought the score to 57-31 at the 9:14 mark as the Knights led by as many as 31 in the second half en route to their nine-straight victory.

Geneseo (15-4, 11-1 SUNYAC) returns to action Tuesday, Feb. 10, for a game at Buffalo State slated to tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
