Western New England's Dorothy O’Neill Tabbed CCC Rookie of the Week for Fourth Time

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--For the fourth time this season, Western New England women's basketball student-athlete Dorothy O'Neill (Staten Island, N.Y./St. John Villa Academy) has been selected the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week. The freshman point guard also was named on Jan. 18, Nov. 23 and Nov. 17.

O'Neill averaged 11.5 points and 1.5 rebounds as the Golden Bears split a pair of CCC contests. She opened the week with nine points, two assists, two steals and a rebound in a 61-52 win over Wentworth on Wednesday and followed with 14 points and two rebounds in a tough 72-68 setback at Eastern Nazarene on Saturday.

On the season, the forensic biology major is second in CCC free throw percentage (.831; 49-59), seventh in the conference with a 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio and ranks tied for second on the team with a 9.7 scoring average.
