BRADFORD, Pa. – The Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team came away with a win over Penn State Altoona in front of its alumni at KOA Arena, 71-55.

Pitt-Bradford (14-6, 11-3) was led offensively by senior Alicia Kimmel (Pine Grove/Pine Grove) and freshman Ali Rinfrette (Bradford/Bradford) sharing a game-high 18 points.

Penn State Altoona (9-12, 8-7) was led by Moira Corrigan who recorded a double-double by collecting 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Lions.

Pitt-Bradford started out the game going basket for basket with Penn State Altoona. The Lions dominated the paint early on and kept the Panthers from running away with the lead.

Freshman Brooke Osborne (Abbottstown/ Spring Grove) found her stroke early in the first half for the Lady Panthers and converted on six of her eight shot attempts. Osborne finished the first half with 12 points as Pitt-Bradford went into the locker room leading by one, 36-35.

The Lady Panthers came out of the locker room and continued to trade baskets with the Lions and found themselves down 44-42 early in the second half. However, this would be the last time the Lions would see the lead as Pitt-Bradford went on a 16-0 run that ended with 11:46 left in the contest.

The Lady Panthers then turned up the defense by not allowing Penn State Altoona to gain any ground back on the scoreboard. Pitt-Bradford forced the Lions to commit 10 turnovers in the second half with nine of them coming by way of a steal.

Pitt-Bradford put on a good show for its alumni as the Lady Panthers go on to beat the Lions, 71-55.

After the game, Pitt-Bradford head coach Patrick Daniel said, "I am very happy to get the win today, especially because of how we played defensively in the second half. We did the things we needed to do and I am very proud of our effort."

The Lady Panthers will host D'Youville at 4 p.m. Wednesday at KOA Arena. Wednesday will also be Pitt-Bradford's Pink Game.
