LISLE, Ill. -- A 74-48 result marked Alverno College's third-straight loss Wednesday night at the Rice Center to host Benedictine University.

The Inferno (4-14, 2-11 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) had trouble containing the host Eagles (11-7, 11-2 NACC), who led the entire contest.

Katelyn Bartlett led Alverno with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Tessa Mersberger added nine points, while Nyakok Duop and Mollie Mikyska had eight points apiece.

The Eagles' Meghan Novak made 5-of-6 3-pointers en route to a game-high 24 points.

Although the Inferno had just 16 turnovers -- the team's fewest in the last nine games -- the visitors were outrebounded 48-28, losing the battle on the glass for the first time in four games.

Alverno returns home for a Saturday contest versus NACC leader Wisconsin Lutheran College. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in Reiman Gymnasium.
