LAGRANGE, Ga. -- The Berry College women's basketball team won, 78-69, at LaGrange College on Saturday afternoon.

The win improved the Vikings to 4-1 overall, and the loss dropped the Panthers to 2-3.

Although LaGrange took the lead a few times throughout the first half, Berry led 37-25 at the break.

Led by Emma Cook's 21 points, BC's offense had three players scoring in double-digits, and seven players contributing points overall. Cook was 9-11 on field goals and collected nine rebounds.

Chanlir Segarra and Zarriah Pierce both added double digit points in the win as well. Segarra added 19 points and 10 assists on the day. Pierce posted 11 points, going 3-4 from beyond the three-point line.

"We started the game with good energy and played well," said Berry College Head Coach Stephanie Dunn. "LaGrange fought back, but we showed maturity by maintaining the lead and making big plays when we needed to do so. We continue to get players healthy each week. Tonight Marissa Ivey played in her first game of the season and did a good job for us. Chanlir has led the way controlling the tempo and getting everyone involved on offense. Emma continues to have consistent numbers scoring and rebounding. We need to play well against Piedmont tomorrow."

For the Panthers, Morgan McDonald put up 21 points in the loss. McDonald was a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line.

The Vikings look to extend their winning streak to three games as they take on Piedmont College at LaGrange on Sunday at 2 p.m.
