#13 DePauw Rallies for NCAC Win as Trees Scores All of Her Game-High 20 in Second Half

Springfield, Ohio - DePauw's Savannah Trees scored all of her game-high 20 points in the second half as the visiting Tigers extended their win streak to 11 with a 63-54 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Wittenberg.

The Tigers, ranked 12th in the coaches' poll and 13th by D3hoops.com, improved to 14-1 overall and 7-0 in NCAC play with their 11th straight win, while Wittenberg dropped to 11-4 and 3-2.

DePauw struggled through the first half with just 25.9 percent shooting and 10 turnovers after entering the contest ranked first in Division III in fewest turnovers per game and second in field goal percentage. The Tigers closed the first half with five straight to take a 20-19 lead into the intermission.

Taylor Howard's bucket with 15:51 left gave DePauw a 29-24 advantage, but Wittenberg responded with eight straight over a two-minute stretch to grab a 32-29 lead. 

The hosts still held a 34-30 edge, but DePauw went on a 12-0 run that started with Howard'slayup before Trees knocked in a three and scored a layup. Claire Ryan followed with a basket andOndik buried a three to make it 42-34 with 8:26 left.

Wittenberg closed the gap to 44-42 after Katelyn Haralamos scored all eight of the hosts' 8-2 run. 
Trees scored 10 of DePauw's 14 points over the final five minutes as the Tigers gradually pulled away down the stretch.

The second half told a different story as the guests shot 46.7 percent and turned the ball over just three times. 

In addition to leading all scorers with 20, Trees passed current DePauw assistant coach AlexGasaway on the all-time scoring list where she's currently fifth with 1,249 points. Ondik added 15 points and four assists in the win, while Douglas grabbed eight rebounds and blocked four shots.

Heather Schroeder paced Wittenberg with 15 with Haralamos adding 14. Haley Dannemller hauled down seven rebounds.

DePauw finished with 36.8 percent shooting and knocked in eight three-points, while Wittenbergconnected on 41.2 percent from the floor, but just 2-of-11 from three-point range.

The guests held a 38-30 edge on the boards and led, 13-8, in second chance points. 

DePauw returns to action on Saturday, January 17, with a 1 p.m. contest at Ohio Wesleyan.
