Millikin Women Score Road Victory

The Millikin women's basketball team scored a 60-55 win at St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana on Dec. 19.

    After trailing for much of the first half, Millikin rallied to take a 29-28 advantage at the half.  Millikin would build a 10 point lead in the second half and held on for the five point win.

    The Big Blue entered the game leading all of NCAA Division III in shooting percentage hitting over 48 percent from the field this season.  Millikin had a cold night against St. Mary's hitting only 37 percent from the field.  Fortunately, Millikin held St. Mary's to 29 percent from the field.  Millikin lost the rebounding battle 51-43.

    Millikin had three players score in double figures led by Kelsey Going with a team high 12 points and seven rebounds.  Devin Curry added 11 points and Alyssa Saklak had 10 points.  Curry and Saklak each had five rebounds.

    St. Mary's top scorer was Krista Knapke with 17 points.  Ariana Paul had 15 points.

    Millikin improves to 7-2 while St. Mary's falls to 3-7.  The Big Blue will play at Olivet College in Michigan on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 1 p.m. ET.
