NIA TOMPKINS AND ASHLEY DESIR SCORE DOUBLE-FIGURES AGAINST LEHMAN

Brooklyn, NY- The Women's Basketball team fell to the Lehman College Lightning 86-54 earlier tonight. This was the most amount the points, the Cougars scored so far this season. The Lightning improve to 4-2, 2-0 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 0-8, 0-2 CUNYAC. 

The Cougars shot 32.8% from the field, 42.9% from 3pt. range, and 50% Free Throw Percentage. The Cougars were led by Junior Guard Nia Tompkins with 24pts (8-19 FG-FGA and 8-16 3pt FG-FGA). Nia grabbed two rebounds and added two steals. Sophomore Guard Ashley Desir scored 12pts (5-10 FG-FGA, 1-4 3pt. FG-FGA, and 1-3 FT-FTA). Desir grabbed five rebounds, dished out three assists, and added a steal. Sophomore Forward Kimonia Mullings carouled a team high eight rebounds.

In the win, Lehman was led by Jennifer Navarro with 31pts. Three other student-athletes scored in double figures including the following: Karrin Walker (21pts), Yarmese Jones (14pts), and Amely Del Rosario (10pts).

The Cougars will be back in action on Sunday December. 7th, 2014, when the Emmanuel College Saints come to Brooklyn, and battle Medgar Evers College. Tip off will be 1:00 pm.
