MILWAUKEE -- Alverno College dropped a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game to visiting Concordia University Wisconsin, 63-49, Saturday night in Reiman Gymnasium.

The loss was just the second for the Inferno in Reiman Gymnasium in the last 15 games.

Mollie Mikyska registered her fourth double-double of the season for the Inferno (2-7, 1-5 NACC) with 13 points and 11 rebounds -- both game-highs -- but it wasn't enough to catch the Falcons (6-2, 4-2) who led a majority of the game.

After a back-and-forth opening, the Falcons took a 7-5 lead with 15 minutes left in the first half and stayed ahead the rest of the way. The visitors extended their five-point halftime lead to 12 points with 11 minutes remaining and the Inferno couldn't get closer than seven the remainder of the contest.

Alverno shot a meager 6-of-11 from the free-throw line while CUW was an impressive 17-of-19. The Falcons also controlled the glass 44-34 and had 11 turnovers compared to the Inferno's season-low of 13.

Julie Gallegos added 11 points for the Inferno, K.D. Jones had six, and Brooke McBain added six in her first game in an Alverno uniform. Tessa Mersberger scored seven and dished out a game-best five assists.

Megan Coenen led the Falcons with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting. Madelyn Landgraf and Brianna Wagner put up 10 apiece for the visitors.

Alverno plays in its final game before the holiday break a week from today at Benedictine University. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. down in Lisle, Illinois.
