OLYMPIA, Wash. – Despite double-digit performances on the offensive end by Nani Ostrom, Olivia Cook and Kyla Siri, the Pacific women's basketball team was unable to overcome Evergreen State at Constantino Recreation Center as the Geoducks emerged with a 75-58 victory over the visiting Boxers.

The Boxers fell behind the Geoducks early and never led as Evergreen State pushed out to an early 9-0 lead over Pacific. With 17:43 remaining in the opening period, Cook (Sr., Beaverton, Ore.) assisted on a layup from Abby Jones (Sr., Haines, Alaska).

Pacific saw Evergreen state push ahead to an 11-point lead with less than 15 minutes remaining in the first half, before four-straight points from Kyla Siri (Sr., Spring Creek, Nev.) and a fast break jumper from Ostrom (Sr., Juneau, Alaska) pulled the Boxers back within five points.

The five-point game did not last long as Evergreen State pushed the lead to as many as 19 points with less than a minute left in the first half. Ostrom managed to cut the Geoducks lead to 17 with 20 seconds remaining on a jumper, which was assisted by Jonica Durbin (Sr., Seabeck, Wash.).

After a quick jumper from the Geoducks in the second period, Pacific responded with a five-point run off a pair of free throws by Kaila Johnson (Sr., McKinleyville, Calif.) and a 3-pointer by Johnson with 17:31 on the clock to pull the boxers within 14 of the home side.

The Geoducks lead held to no less than 11 points in the second period, while extending to as many as 23 with 3:56 remaining in regulation. A jumper from Ostrom with 2:10 left in the second half, followed by a free throw from Cook left the scoreline at 73-54 with the Geoducks ahead and 1:27 on the clock.

A pair of free throw makes by both Kelsey Misseldine (Sr., Phoenix, Ariz.) and Cook in the final minute of the game allowed the deficit to shrink to 17 points before the buzzer sounded on Evergreen State's 75-58 victory.
