Grinnell women's basketball team falls to nationally-ranked St. Norbert

DE PERE, Wis. – The Grinnell College women's basketball team dropped a 58-38 Midwest Conference decision to 22nd-ranked St. Norbert College Saturday afternoon.
 
Sophia Gatton '17 scored a team-high 11 points for the Pioneers, who fell to 2-3 in the league and 2-6 in all games.Alex Neckopulos '17 added 14 rebounds and nine points.
 
Gatton also had two assists, while Alissa Hirsh '16 and Anne Boldt '16 had a steal each.
 
St. Norbert improved to 4-0 in the league and 7-1 overall.
 
It was just a three-point game at 10-7 after a jumper by Neckopulos with 11:53 to go in the first half before the Green Knights scored 14 unanswered points en route to a 28-14 halftime lead. The hosts cruised from there for the win.
 
Grinnell concludes its pre-holiday slate Monday night in Des Moines against the AIB College of Business. Game time is 7 p.m.
