Berry nets another decisive win, 88-55

ROME, Ga. – The Berry College women's basketball team defeated Covenant College, 88-55, on Tuesday night. Berry led from start to finish in the contest.

The Vikings improved to 3-1 and Covenant dropped to 0-5.

Emma Cook led BC with 16 points and Valerie McLure added 14 points for BC. Chanlir Segarra scored 10 points, passed eight assists and grabbed six rebounds for the Vikings.

The Vikings led 42-25 at halftime. Berry had 35 total rebounds to Covenant's 31. BC shot 54-percent (36-66) to the Scots' 39-percent (20-51).

"We came out and played hard from the beginning," said Head Coach Stephanie Dunn. "We wanted to play the full court defensively. It was a good win for us and allowed us to see the abilities of our freshmen."

Liz Dougherty netted 14 points and Morgan Woodward earned 10 points for the Scots.

The Vikings next play in the USAS/SAA Challenge against host LaGrange on Saturday at 4 p.m.
