Late Albright Rally Falls Short Against Cabrini

RADNOR, Pa. – The Albright women's basketball team rallied from 10 points down to tie the game with a minute to play, but eventually dropped a 56-51 decision at Cabrini College Tuesday night inside Nerney Field House.

The Lions (2-2) trailed 47-37 with seven minutes left in the second half, when they went on a 14-4 run. Emily O'Donnell had five points during the comeback and Kelecia Harris added four points. Jane Joyce made it a one point game with 1:46 left and Jessica Venturelli split a pair of free-throws with one minute remaining to tie the game at 51-51.

Amber Keys made one of two free throws with 44 seconds left to give the Cavaliers the lead back for good, Cabrini added a layup and a pair of free throws in the final ten seconds to secure the victory.

The Lions led by as many as six points in the first half at 18-12 with five minutes to play, The Cavaliers (2-2) responded with a 6-0 run to tie the game at 18-18, but Albright went to the break with a 24-23 lead.

O'Donnell came off the bench to score six points and grab four rebounds in the opening half, matching the output from Harris. Keys grabbed nine rebounds, to go along with 10 points to lead Cabrini.

Harris finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds a blocked shot and a steal, O'Donnell had 13 points, five rebounds and a steal, while Venturelli dished out a team-high five assists to go with five points and a steal.

Keys led all scorers with 21 points and she also grabbed a game-high 19 rebounds and blocked five shots. Dana Peterson had 14 and five assists, and Kristina Startare finished with 10 for Cabrini.

Albright will host Ursinus College Saturday Nov. 29 inside the Bollman Center at 3 p.m. It's the final tune-up before opening Commonwealth Conference action on Tuesday Dec. 3 at Widener University at 6 p.m.
