William Paterson Women’s Basketball Rolls to 74-57 Victory at Ramapo

MAHWAH, N.J. – The William Paterson women's basketball team (4-1, 2-0 NJAC) rolled to a 74-57 victory at Ramapo (3-2, 0-2 NJAC) Nov. 25. Freshman guard Jackie Rodriguez (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) had a game-high 16 points and junior guard Brittany Harden (Millville, N.J./Sacred Heart) contributed 14 tallies for the Pioneers.

 

WP trailed for just 24 seconds against the host Roadrunners, turning a 38-30 halftime lead into a 17-point win. The Pioneers owned a 58-42 advantage on the boards, and after scoring the first six points of the second half, never led by less than 10 for the rest of the contest.

 

Harden added a team-high five assists and a game-best three steals, junior forward Mary Haines (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield Park) had a double-double with 10 tallies and 11 rebounds, and seven of junior forward Alex Milne's (Howell, N.J./Howell) 11 boards were offensive. Sophomore forward Maya Harris (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) chipped in nine points and seven rebounds.

 

Sophomore forward Kellie Lane led Ramapo with 15 points, and sophomore guard/forward Bintou Berete finished with 13 tallies and 11 rebounds.

 

William Paterson will host Stevens Monday, Dec. 1, at 7:00 p.m.
