FOREST GROVE - After a slow start that saw Caltech hold a lead over the opening 10 minutes, the Pacific women's basketball team cruised to a 88-50 victory over the visiting Beavers, led by a career day by senior Nani Ostrom.

Pacific scored the opening points of the game before Caltech rattled off seven-straight to take a 7-2 lead in the opening two minutes of the game. The deficit did not remain at five long as Olivia Cook (Sr., Beaverton, Ore.) scored back-to-back layups to pull the Boxers within one of the Beavers.

Despite Sarah Curl (So., Portland, Ore.) hitting a pair of free throws to give the Boxers a temporary one-point lead with 15:45 left in the first half, the Beavers would quickly recover their lead and not surrender it until the 10:25 mark when Kaila Johnson (Sr., McKinleyville, Calif.) hit a 3-pointer off an assist from Marlee Chovich (Jr., Oregon City, Ore.) to give the Boxers a two-point lead.

Johnson's 3-pointer set-off a 13-point run for the Boxers, which ended with a 25-13 Pacific lead. The Beavers broke-up Pacific's run with a layup at the 5:48 mark, which was quickly answered by a 3-pointer from Ostrom (Sr., Juneau, Alaska) off an assist from Cook.

Pacific continued to control the remainder of the opening period on both ends of the court as Caltech scored its final points of the opening period with 2:46 remaining in the half. The Kate Lewis layup was followed by a layup and free throw from Maia LaBoy (Fr., Honolulu, Hawaii) and individual free throw makes from Curl and Cook.

Kelsey Misseldine (Sr., Phoenix, Ariz.) closed out the half for the Boxers with a jumper and free throw to send the Boxers to the locker room at the break with a 23-point lead and the score line set at 42-19.

Cook led Pacific at the half with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Ostrom finished the opening period with 12 points. Ostrom's 12 points in the opening period matched her career high, previously set on Nov. 19, 2011 at Caltech.

The second half opened with a eight-point run by the Boxers, which put Pacific ahead of the visiting Beavers 50-19 with 18:27 remaining in the second period.

The Boxers began to empty its bench five minutes into the second half as Kelsey Viani-Wittwer (Fr., Hawthorne, Nev.) made her collegiate debut as she hit a jumper at the 14:16 mark, extending Pacific's lead to 59-24.

The Boxers' lead reached 39 points on a pair of made free throws at the 12:53 mark from Kyla Siri (Jr., Spring Creek, Nev.).

Pacific's 39-point lead was its largest of the afternoon, as the Beavers were able to cut the Pacific lead to as few as 29 points in the final ten minutes of the game.

LaBoy impressed off the bench late in the second period as she hustled her way around the court to earn her first collegiate double-double.

The entire Pacific roster scored in its victory over Caltech, led by Ostrom's 17 points. Cook finished with 15 points and nine rebounds, while LaBoy's double-double consisted of 11 points and 13 rebounds. Lewis led Caltech with 24 points.
