DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Alyssa Sanchez scored a game-high 26 points for Rowan University as the visiting Profs erased a 12-point, second-half deficit to defeat host Delaware Valley College, 64-59.

The loss drops the Aggies to 1-2 on the young season while Rowan remained undefeated at 3-0.

Delaware Valley opened up a 5-0 lead to start the game before the Profs went on an 11-0 run behind seven from Sanchez to take the six-point advantage.  The Aggies came out of the timeout and scored 14 of the next 16 points including two treys from Eireann Anastasi to regain the lead at 19-14.  They would not relinquish that lead the remainder of the half as a Bridget Sobon layup at the buzzer sent the Aggies to the locker room with a six-point advantage at 29-23.

Delaware Valley's Kelsey Kilpatrick opened the second half with a long 3-pointer and Shannon Barlow added a layup to extend the lead to 11 just 49 seconds in. The Aggies largest lead of the night came after Agatha Drozd stole the ball from Valerie Garofalo and raced down the court for the open layup, but was fouled from behind by Summer Crilley.  Drozd hit both free throw attempts for the 46-34 lead with 13:32 to play.

From there, Rowan went on to score 16 of the game's next 20 points to tie the game at 50-50. Bria Hill and Jade Bonner combined for 14 of the points during that run including two treys from Hill.  After Delaware Valley's Brenna Coll hit a layup and a pair of free throws, it was Hill who responded with another three to give Rowan its first lead of the half at 55-54 with 6:35 on the clock.

Sanchez then dribbled down the court and converted three points the old fashioned way for the four-point advantage.  Coll responded on the other end with three-point play of her own to get the deficit back to one at 58-57. Coll then committed her fifth and final foul with 3:57 left and sent Bria Hill to the line for Rowan where she hit one of two.

With 2:25 remaining in regulation, Sobon stole the ball from Garofalo and converted a layup on the other end to knot the game at 59. However, the Profs hit three free throws in the next two minutes while Delaware Valley missed three chances and turned the ball over twice. The Aggies still had a chance to tie the game, but Anastasi's long 3-point attempt was off with seven seconds to go and Sanchez hit two free throws to seal the win.

Anastasi led the way for the Aggies with 19 points and five steals while Coll scored 16 to go with six boards.  Barlow had a game-high eight rebounds while Drozd added eight points, five rebounds and four steals.

Sanchez was 8-for-12 from the field and 9-for-13 from the foul line for her 26 points. Hill added 12 points in the win.
