YORK, Pa. – Former Wesley College Angie Owens has been named to the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Silver Anniversary Team, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. 

Entering its 25th year of varsity competition, the CAC selected a Silver Anniversary Team in 19 championship sports, primarily based on season-ending conference awards as voted by the conference coaches. Each Silver Anniversary Team will feature 25 former or current standouts. 

A native of Seaford, Del., Owens holds the Wolverines career record with 1,054 rebounds and 225 blocks while ranking third in points (1,516) and fifth in free throws made (209).  Owens also holds Wesley single-season records with a 59.4% field goal percentage and 332 rebounds, both of which were seet in the 2008-09 season. 

Owens was named to the D3hoops.com All-Region Team three times, earning First Team honors in 2010-11, Second Team recognition in 2009-10 and Third Team accolades in 2008-09.  The CAC Co-Player of the Year in the 2010-11 season, Owens twice received First Team All-Conference honors and also earned Second Team recognition in another season.   

Owens was also named the Wesley College Female Athlete of the Year following the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons.
