Ithaca Outlasts Haverford, Advances To Sweet 16

The Ithaca College women's basketball team got 19 points from Mary Kate Tierney and 16 from Jenn Escobido in a 54-43 win over Haverford in an NCAA Regional Final game Saturday at Ben Light Gymnasium.

Ithaca advances to the Sweet 16, where they will face Amherst. The Bombers are 25-4 on the season and have won 17 consecutive games, which matches a program record. Haverford finished its season with a 24-4 record, the best in program history.

Ithaca held Haverford to just 21 points in the second half and allowed only six second-half field goals. The Bombers held a 51-41 edge in rebounding.
