GREENSBURG, Pa – The Hilbert College women's basketball team suffered an 84-39 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference loss to Pitt-Greensburg January 18.

Eight different Hawks scored, with senior Natalie Whitman adding another 14 point, 11 rebound effort to her resume, but the Bobcats were too deep, too fast into the game.  Greensburg improved to 4-3 in league while Hilbert dropped to 0-8.

Greensburg's Emily Nelson finished with 15 points, 10 assists and four steals while her teammate Chianti Sivek led all scorers with 19 points.   Three other Bobcats posted double-figure points but no one was credited with more than 9 rebounds.

The game slowly got away from Hilbert as the Bobcats scored the game's first 14 points and held a 20-2 lead at the midway point of the first half.  Greensburg outscored the Hawks 45-13 by the break and 39-26 through the second half.

Hilbert got in trouble because of their low shooting percentage (25.5%) from the floor with zero three-point scores to their credit.  The Hawks were at a 9-rebound disadvantage which resulted in 18 second-chance Bobcat points while the home team's bench scored 40 more points than Hilbert's.

Freshman Emily Spiedel chipped in 7 points and 2 steals as Jenah Labuski added six points and two steals.  Kylie Reinholz (4 points, 1 assist) and Kenya Williams pulled in four rebounds each.

Hilbert (1-13) face Penn State Behrend who is 1-6 in AMCC, Monday, January 20 at 8pm before they give it a go against D'Youville College Thursday.  Franciscan University enters the Hafner Saturday for a 4pm league game.
