GREENSBORO, N.C. – Gabby Oglesby and Morgan King each turned in a double-double as Guilford downed Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) co-leader Randolph-Macon, 80-67, Saturday afternoon at Ragan Brown Field House.

The Quakers  (12-3, 4-2 ODAC) played a strong all around game. They came in with the third-ranked defense in Division III and played another tough defensive game. Guilford held Randolph-Macon, which came in as the third-rated offense, to just 35.2% shooting for the game.

In addition to their tenacious defense, the Quakers had a great rebounding game. They held a 61-30 rebounding edge and a 21-7 lead in second-chance points.

Oglesby and King played big roles in both the rebounding and put-back points. Oglesby finished with a team-high 20 points while King added 12. Both Guilford post players tied with a game-high 14 rebounds.

Brittany Drew and Anais Weatherly each contributed 11 points. Drew provided some key points down the stretch, ensuring that the Yellow Jackets could not mount a comeback. Weatherly contributed strong ball-hawking defense and came up with a key steal and layup late in the game.

Guilford started off the game with a bang and jumped out to an early 11-5 lead, with Oglesby scoring eight quick points. The Quakers extended to a 14-point lead in the opening half and took a 41-31 lead into intermission.

Randolph-Macon (11-4, 4-2) battled back in the second half with a full-court press and on several occasions cut the lead to three points. But Guilford never surrendered the lead in the second half.

With 4:28 remaining, Katie Anderson went to the line with a chance to once again cut the lead to three. But she was able to hit just one of two free throws and the Quakers went on an 8-0 run, including Weatherly's key steal and bucket, to clinch the game.

Free throw shooting haunted the Yellow Jackets all game, as they hit just 10-of-30 attempts from the line.

ODAC scoring leader Taylor Huber scored a game-high 24 points to lead Randolph-Macon and Anderson added 18.

Guilford returns to action Wednesday night with a conference road game at Emory & Henry. Game time is 7:00 pm.
