ALBION, Mich. – Albion held Olivet center Stefanie Lang eight points below her season scoring average, but she had enough help as the Comets walked out of Kresge Gymnasium with a 67-51 victory in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's basketball action.

Lang was one of four Olivet starters to socre in double figures. Cari Reid produced a game-high 17, Chelsea Ciba finished with 13, and Kelsey Campbell chipped in with 11. Campbell fell an assist shy of a double-double.

The first half featured a pair of lead changes as Albion rallied from an early six-point deficit. The Britons forged a tie at 12 when Aly Bates scored a layup, and they took a 14-12 lead when Khaila Royster knocked down a pair of free throws.

Ciba and Reed produced the bulk of the scoring as Olivet ran off an 11-4 run to build a 30-20 lead and it never trailed again.

Albion made enough shots to keep Olivet from pulling away until there were six minutes left in the game. Olivet was clinging to a 56-51 lead until Reid made a layup and Lang tacked on a free throw and two baskets as the margin ballooned to 63-51.

Brett de Bear was the only Albion player to score in double figures. She connected on 6-of-14 shots of 14 points.

Albion's league schedule continues Saturday with a road game at Saint Mary's College.
