Providence, R.I.-Sophomore guard Danielle LeBlanc (Warwick, RI) finished with 12 points and a team-high seven assists, while senior forward Cara Paladino (Arlington, MA) totaled 12 points and six rebounds, to lead the Rhode Island College women's basketball team to a 74-37 blowout win over Johnson & Wales on Thursday night at The Murray Center in non-conference action.

Freshman forward Christian McDuffy (Brockton, MA) chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds off the bench to help pace Rhode Island College, who improves to 7-5 for the year overall. On the other end, junior guard D'Ana Rolle (Gardner, MA) finished with 10 points and three assists for Johnson & Wales, as the Wildcats fall to 2-9 on the season.

The Anchorwomen opened the game on a 17-0 run through the first seven and half minutes of action and never looked back, en route to the 37-point victory. RIC shot 56 percent (28-for-50) from the floor on the evening, which included a 62 percent (16-for-26) shooting mark in the first half. The hosts also shot 57 percent (4-for-7) from beyond the three-point arc and 82 percent (14-for-17) from the free throw line.

Another key to Rhode Island College's success was in the rebounding department, as the Anchorwomen completely dominated the glass on Thursday. The hosts out-rebounded the Wildcats by a margin of 47-16 and corralled 13 offensive rebounds as a team.

Freshman guard Jill Paladino (Arlington, MA) recorded a team-high nine rebounds to go along with five points and three assists in a career-high 27 minutes for RIC, while classmate forward Ashleigh Greaves (Hove, South Australia) registered eight points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in a career-high 28 minutes off the bench.

Senior guard Stephanie Prusko (Lincoln, RI) added 10 points, three assists and two rebounds for the Anchorwomen, while sophomore forward Vandell Andrade (Providence, RI) posted eight points, seven rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Sophomore guard Michelle Lagrotteria (Niantic, CT) contributed six points and two rebounds.

For Johnson & Wales, junior guard Natalie DiCocco (Media, PA) finished with eight points, while senior guard Jenna Juron (Burnt Hills, NY) chalked up nine points and two steals.

The Wildcats shot 27 percent (13-for-49) from the floor, 33 percent (3-for-9) from downtown and 57 percent (8-for-14) from the free throw line.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East Conference action at Keene State on Saturday, Jan. 11 (1 p.m.).
