GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year forward Katie Vienneau scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Knights to a 88-55 victory over visiting Misericordia (Pa.), Friday night.

Junior center Katie Peterson was credited with 13 points while sophomore point guard Dana Cohan and junior forward Shannon McGinnis each tallied 12 points as five Knights finished in double-figure scoring.

Geneseo out-rebounded the Cougars by an 55-28 margin, including a 39-19 edge on the defensive boards, while finishing with a 53.2 field goal percentage on the night.

"It was great to see us work that hard after having almost a month off," said head coach Scott Hemer. "With some players dealing with injuries and illness, I was happy with the way some other people stepped up and got the job done. It really shows the potential for what this group can accomplish going forward."

Leading 14-10 with 13:26 to play in the first half, Geneseo built a 20-point lead by halftime, 40-22, on the strength of 56.3 percent shooting from the floor. Extending their lead to as many as 38 in the second half, the Knights would go on to tie their highest scoring output of the season after also scoring 88 points in a 20-point victory over RIT on Dec. 3.

Geneseo (6-1) kicks off State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play on Tuesday, hosting Brockport at 6:00 p.m.
