DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Guilford rallied from a 14-point second half deficit to force overtime, but fell to the Scranton Lady Royals, 67-61, in the Daytona Beach Shootout in the Ocean Center Friday afternoon.

Brittany Drew nailed a jumper as time expired in regulation to cap a 22-8 run that sent the game into overtime. But the Quakers were done in by poor shooting in the extra session, as they were able to convert just two of 11 shots in overtime.

Gabby Oglesby led Guilford (8-2) with 21 points and nine rebounds.  But no other Quaker finished in double digits in scoring.  Oglesby went 8-18 from the floor.  The rest of her teammates combined to shoot just 26.8% for the game.

Scranton (6-2) was paced by Meredith Mesaris, who scored a game-high 25 points.  Allison Sweeney and Lia DiSciascio each contributed 10 points apiece for the Royals.

Guilford wraps up its appearance in the Daytona Beach Shootout Saturday morning when it takes on Benedictine (Ill.) at 10:00 am.
