Monahan Picks Up 400th Win, William Paterson Women’s Basketball Rolls Past Rowan, 95-64

WAYNE, N.J. – Head coach Erin Monahan earned her 400th career victory as the William Paterson women's basketball team (4-5, 2-3 NJAC) rolled to a 95-64 home win against Rowan (2-6, 2-3 NJAC) Dec. 11.

 

The Pioneers owned a 29-9 lead before reaching the midway point of the first half, and after substituting liberally for the remainder of the period, William Paterson carried a 43-29 edge into the locker room.

 

WP's largest lead of the contest came with 7:10 to play, 81-47, as the Pioneers dominated the rebounding battle (54-36) and owned substantial advantages in points in the paint (56-24) and points off turnovers (28-14).

 

Senior forward Dana Jeter (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert) led all players with 18 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots, while senior guard Floriana Borova (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill) collected 15 tallies. Freshman forward Maya Harris (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) posted 14 points, eight boards and a game-best four steals, and sophomore guard Brittany Harden (Millville, N.J./Sacred Heart) had eight points and 10 rebounds as Monahan improved her career record to 400-157 in her 21st season at her alma mater.

 

Juniors Jade Bonder and Bria Hill and freshman Anyssa Sanchez each scored 12 points for the Profs.

 

William Paterson will host Manhattanville Thursday, Dec. 19, at 7:00 p.m.
