HIRAM, OH – Natalie Whitman's 16 points led four Hilbert Hawks to double-digit scoring in the 91-61 non-conference loss to Heidelberg University in the second game of the Hiram College Terrier Tip-off Tournament November 16. The 'Berg women finished the weekend as the only team with a perfect 2-0 record as Pitt-Greensburg defeated Hiram College 77-66 in the second game on day two of the Classic.

Jenah Labuski chipped in 12 points and two steals while Kylie Reinholz and Wyann Jackson reached double-digit figures with 11 and 10 points respectively.

Whitman shared game-high rebounding honors (8) with Heidelberg's Carlie Patrick who also scored 16 points. Heidelberg's Kathleen Phillips earned game-high honors with 20 points and three assists.

Fifteen of the nineteen Heidelberg players found the bottom of the net contributing to the team's 91 points today while eight of Hilbert's sixteen players added points to the score board.

Heidelberg opened the game's scoring right off the tip, for the first lead of the game. After Hilbert's Emily Spiedel pulled down an offensive board, Whitman evened the game at 18:34. But that was the last time the two teams were tied. The 'Berg attempted to put the game away early, but each time they held a two-bucket lead, Labuski and Reinholz shaved two points off the difference. But by 9:48, Heidelberg scored 11 unanswered points and held a 21-8 lead.

Wyann Jackson personally went on an 8-point run, hitting two 3-point shots, to cut the spread back to eight points by 6:25. Reinholz, Labuski, Whitman and Courtney Coots were credited with scores but Heidelberg closed out the first half on a 20-8 run.

Hilbert made 11 of the 37 shots attempted (2 of 5 from beyond the arc) while Heidelberg hit 18 of 42 attempts and couldn't hit beyond the arc, going one for eleven. Heidelberg made eleven trips to the foul line and pulled down 34 boards (17 offensive) while the Hawks was 0-2 at the charity stripe and had 20 rebounds (10 offensive).

The second half played out much like the first. Heidelberg maintained their lead and added a few extra unanswered points along the way.

For the game, Heidelberg had better shooting percentage (41.5% v.35.7%) and out-rebounded Hilbert 63-35. The 'Berg finished with 30 offensive rebounds, almost as many as Hilbert's total rebounding efforts.

The Hilbert women host their season opener Tuesday, November 19 when Penn State DuBois makes their first appearance in the Hafner Rec. Center at 7pm.
