The Baruch College Bearcats defeated rival Hunter College Hawks, 58-34, in a CUNYAC / Con Edison Basketball Championship Tournament semifinal game played on Wednesday night at Nat Holman Gymnasium on the campus of The City College of New York.

The Bearcats will advance to play in their sixth consecutive CUNYAC Championship game and seventh in the past eight years under Head Coach Machli Joseph. The championship game at CCNY is scheduled for Saturday, February 23, at 3:00 pm against Brooklyn College.

The Bearcats, ranked #25 in this week's W.B.C.A. USA Today Sports Coaches' Division III National Poll, used an offensive surge to jump out to a dominating 33-11 halftime lead.

They never relented in the second half as the defense forced the Hawks into sloppy play with 30 turnovers that led to 34 points. Overall, the Bearcats attempted 69 shots compared to 40 by the Hawks.


Jessica Dulebaled the way in the team's 25th victory with 20 points, while Francess Henrycontributed 11 points, seven rebounds and three steal. Iyana Abramsrecorded 10 points, four steals and four assists.
