CNR Rolls Past Cooper Union, 81-23

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The College of New Rochelle posted a dominant victory over Cooper Union this afternoon in a game played at The Wellness Center on the CNR campus.  With the win, the Blue Angels eclipse their win total from last season.

After Cooper Union scored the initial points of the game, CNR took over, scoring 33 consecutive points to take a 33-2 lead with 10:33 left in the half.  During that stretch, Alyssa Pechin recorded her first double-double of the season, as she finished the game with game-highs of 24 points and 12 steals.  The assist total is a personal best for the sophomore guard.
 

The Blue Angels took a 63-8 lead into the locker room, with the first half scoring total being a season-best for CNR.  Jasmine Brandon scored all 24 of her points in the opening stanza, adding a game-high nine rebounds and four steals.

The teams played nearly even in the second half, with the CNR lead reaching its apex at 69 points, 81-12, with 11:42 left in the game.
 

Jesmin Peters posted her best game as Blue Angel, scoring 10 points to go along with seven steals, five assists and five rebounds.

CNR will be back in action on Tuesday, when the Blue Angels host HVWAC foe St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn at 7:00 p.m. in The Wellness Center.  The four CNR seniors will be honored prior to the tip.
