Marymount Women’s Hoops Closes Out Non-Conference Slate Victorious

Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's women's basketball team wrapped up its non-conference schedule with a 51-32 victory over visiting Southern Virginia on Wednesday night. The Saints improve to 13-4 overall on the season.


Katelyn Fischer led the Saints with a game-high 18 points to go with seven assists, five steals and three rebounds. Tynisha Parks and Aileen Maknati each chipped in 12 points and four assists.

Miranda Krott led the Blue and White with seven rebounds while Dominique Dickens matched Fischer's five steals. Krott and Parks both nabbed three steals as well.

Marymount controlled the game by forcing 40 turnovers which they converted to 35 points. 

The Saints also hit 50 percent of the shots from three-point range, nailing 8-of-16 attempts from downtown.

Crystal Cleveland led Southern Virginia with nine points and seven rebounds.

Marymount returns to the hardwood on Saturday as it continues Capital Athletic Conference play against visiting Frostburg State.
