La Roche used its patented pressure defensive to force the Pitt-Bradford women's basketball in several mistakes Saturday and coasted to an 81-61 victory.

The Redhawks terrorized the Panthers on the defensive side of the ball, forcing 22 turnovers which led to 24 points. La Roche scored a staggering 62 points in the paint, more than half of which were scored on fast-break situations.

The Redhawks led 19-8 after the opening eight minutes in part to seven turnovers by Pitt-Bradford. Their lead would expand to 19 before the half ended, and they led 41-34 at break.

Pitt-Bradford attempted to mount a charge in the second half, drawing to within 11 on two free throws by Alicia Kimmel with 12 minutes left. After a series of empty possessions by both teams, La Roche's Jessica Pitts converted two free throws, sparking a 6-0 Redhawk run that squashed the Panther rally for good. The visitors would eventually push their advantage to 26 before the final horn sounded.

La Roche shot 57 percent from the floor and outrebounded the Panthers by 11. Pitt-Bradford hit on 40 percent of its attempts, but struggled from the line, going 15-27.

The Panthers were led by Allison Osborne, who pumped in a career-high 25 points. Kimmel finished with 19 points on 7-11 shooting and Geena Sneeringer added 10.

Pitt-Bradford drops to 10-9 on the season and 8-5 in the AMCC. The women kick-off their final road trip of the season Wednesday at Hilbert.
