STOCKTON RUNS AWAY IN SECOND HALF, 70-51

JERSEY CITY, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Richard Stockton College outscored New Jersey City University in the second half, 37-23, to break open a close game and the Ospreys shot 51.9 percent while limiting the Gothic Knights to just 20-of-80 shooting as Stockton won a 70-51 New Jersey Athletic Conference women's basketball victory over NJCU on January 30 at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center on 'Coach Charlie Brown Court.'
 
The Ospreys (10-9, 5-7 NJAC) won for the 20th consecutive meeting between the schools and snapped a four-game losing streak. NJCU (5-16, 1-11 NJAC) is eliminated from conference tournament contention with the loss. NJCU lost despite committing only 11 turnovers in the game.
 
Stockton only had seven players see action yet owned a decisive 40-16 advantage in points in the paint. The guests shot 28-of-54 from the field and the 51.9 percent accuracy rate was by far its highest field goal percentage of the season.
 
NJCU made 25 percent of its shots and after keeping it close in the first half despite making 11-of-38 (.289), it saw its shooting dip to 9-of-42 (.214) in the second period.
