DOYLESTOWN (PA) – DeSales University went on a 21-4 run over the last nine-plus minutes of the first half to take control of the game and eventually defeated host Delaware Valley College, 71-45, in a Freedom Conference match-up.

The Bulldogs, who have won the conference championship in four of the last five years, improved to 14-6 overall and 6-3 in the Freedom. The Aggies fell to 8-12 and 2-7.

Delaware Valley trailed by just two, 17-15, after Eireann Anastasi hit a layup with 9:07 remaining in the first half. The rest of the stanza belonged to DeSales as it used the big spurt to take a 38-19 advantage at the break. Six different players scored for the Bulldogs during the run, including Megan Gallagher's six points. DeSales shot 46.9 percent from the field in the half while holding Delaware Valley to just 29 percent and forcing 14 turnovers.

The Aggies never got closer than 16 points in the second half as they were outscored, 33-26, in those 20 minutes. Brenna Coll paced Delaware Valley with nine points and eight rebounds before fouling out. Emily Soper also fouled out after an eight-point showing. Amanda Turowski came off the bench to contribute four points, seven rebounds and four steals.

A balanced DeSales attack saw Alexiah Grant lead the way with 14 points. Gallagher had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Sondrine Glovas and Colleen Gavin added 11 and 10 points respectively. Taylor Greene dished out eight assists.
