King Leads Guilford to Ninth Straight Win

SALEM, VA. --- Morgan King (Teachey, N.C./New Hanover) had game-highs in points (20) and rebounds (12) in Guilford's 68-61 Old Dominion Athletic Conference win over Roanoke College Saturday.

The Quakers (17-3, 10-1 ODAC) and Maroons (8-11, 4-6 ODAC) exchanged leads in the first half until Lila Scott scored five quick points off the bench, helping Guilford to a 34-22 lead with three minutes left in the first half. The Quakers went to the locker room ahead by seven points. Coach Flamini's squad re-entered the game with the momentum they had at the end of the first. Guilford was ahead by as many as 12 with 5:35 on the clock and its defense held the Maroons' 6-2 surge in the final three minutes.

Brittany Atwater scored nine points, grabbed nine boards and dished out a game-high seven assists in the Quakers' win. Lila Scott, Kayla Adams, Jaclyn Nucci and Logan Hardin each had eight points. Hardin also had five rebounds.
Roanoke's Paxton Gwin had team-highs in points (19) and rebounds (11). She went four-for-six from beyond the three-point line. Kelsey Smith added 10 points. Laurel Hankins had nine. Tatum McKee grabbed seven rebounds. Rachel Dellehunt had a team-high five assists.

The Quakers next play home February 2 at 4:00 p.m. against ODAC-foe Lynchburg College in the Ragan-Brown Field House. The game is Guilford's annual Play 4 Kay tribute.
