Sophomore Amanda Kubitz (Spencerport, NY/E.J. Wilson) scored a career-high 15 points in just 20 minutes to lead the Keuka College women's basketball team past Wells College, 73-56 Wednesday night inside the Weed Physical Arts Center.
Kubitz shot 5-for-9 and scored nine second-half points while juniorJessica Bandrowski (Center Moriches, NY/Center Moriches) added 15 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals as Keuka (9-2, 6-1 North Eastern Athletic Conference) improved to 6-0 at home.
Sophomore Erica Pendrak (Utica, NY/New York Mills) scored 12 points with 5 assists and 3 steals as six different student-athletes scored six or more points.
Senior Montana McDonald (Romulus, NY/Romulus) grabbed eight rebounds while junior Casey Chamberlain (Perry, NY/Perry) and sophomore Brittany Hadley (Jasper, NY/Jasper-Troupsburg) each added seven points for the Green and Gold.
Pendrak scored 10 first-half points as the Storm took a 33-30 halftime lead.
The Storm never trailed in the second half and used a 15-4 run to pull away for their third straight NEAC win.
Senior Mariah Mouzon (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) chipped in with seven rebounds and six points for Keuka, which shot 44.6 percent (29-for-65) for the game, including 15-for-30 during a 40-point second half.
The Storm also used an aggressive defense to pressure Wells and came away with 11 steals.
Ashley Roser scored 16 points with 12 rebounds for Wells (5-9, 4-2).
The Storm hits the road for games against St. Elizabeth at 1 p.m. Sunday and Cazenovia at 5 p.m. on Wednesday night, Jan. 23.
