OLIVET, Mich. – Taylor Nugent led Albion College on a 5-0 run to start overtime, but the Britons missed their next seven shots from the field in sliding to a 62-60 loss to Olivet College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's basketball action at the Cutler Event Center.

Neither team led by more than five in the contest where the lead changed 13 times and the score was tied on 12 occasions.

Albion likely would have won the game had it converted its opportunities from the free throw line. The Britons shot 48 percent from the line for the game, including 7 of 15 in the second half.

Olivet led 49-44 midway through the second half, but Albion ripped off a 6-0 run to gain the lead. Brett de Bear and Danielle Fraley scored on layups and Taylor Peruchietti scored her only points of the day from the free throw line as Albion led, 51-50, with 7:10 left in regulation.

Neither team scored for nearly 3 ½ minutes until Mellissa Bageris knocked down a 3-point shot that boosted Olivet to a 52-50 lead. The teams traded points down the stretch as Albion scored on a layup by Aly Bates, a de Bear free throw and a Tanner Johnson basket.

Nugent led the Britons with 13 points and eight rebounds. Emily DeWaters scored in double figures for the first time at the collegiate level, producing 12 points to go along with seven rebounds.

Albion returns home Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. game against Kalamazoo College.
