Baruch Continues Winning Ways, Defeat Staten Island (63-45)

The Baruch College Bearcats defeated the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island, 63-45, in a CUNYAC road contest played on Saturday afternoon in Staten Island, New York.

The result keeps the Bearcats undefeated at 11-0 overall and 5-0 in the CUNYAC, while the Dolphins drop to 6-6 overall and 3-1 in the CUNYAC.

The game was tightly contested with the Bearcats leading 10-8 with 13:35 left in the first half, but they quickly went on an 11-2 run over the next two minutes to lead 21-10. They continued their momentum to enter the halftime leading by as much as 16 points (38-22).

During the second half, the Dolphins struggled shooting only 23 percent (7-30 fg) to enable the visiting Bearcats to cruise to a comfortable 63-45 victory.  


Jessica Dulebaled the offense this afternoon with 16 points, six rebounds and two assists. Francess Henryscored in double-figures again and missed a double-double with 15 points, nine rebounds and two steals.

Staten Island native
Alicea Ulmerrecorded her first career double-double with 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.

Sheridan Taylorhad her third straight game of double-digit rebounds with 11 and second straight game with three blocks. Imani Davidsoncame off the bench to grab 10 rebounds to help the team win the rebounding battle, 59-37.

Today's victory was the12th straight against Staten Island, which dates back to the 2004-05 season.

The women's basketball team will return to action on Tuesday, January 8th, with a 5:30 pm CUNYAC home contest in the ARC Arena against Brooklyn College.
