St. Thomas runs conference streak to 30 with road win

Junior guard Kelly Brandenburg had 18 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and four assists as the No. 4-ranked Tommies (8-1 overall, 6-0 MIAC) ran their win streak against MIAC opponents to 30 with Wednesday's 75-64 women's basketball win at Carleton (2-7, 2-4).

The Knights, who trailed 40-26 at halftime, fell behind as much as 18 but used a late 11-2 run to make it interesting. Carleton sank six of their eight 3-point baskets in the second half, while UST struggled from beyond the arc and made only 3-of-18 on the night.

Carley Emery had 15 points and senior guard Kellie Ring had 12 points, seven rebounds and five steals for the Tommies, who ran their season win streak to eight. UST had a 45-31 rebounding advantage.

St. Thomas played its fourth game in a row without injured All-America forward Taylor Young.

The Tommies reamin in a share of the MIAC lead with Gustavus at 6-0, one game ahead of third-place Concordia-Moorhead. UST is home both Saturday and next Monday to face Augsburg and Bethel.
