LOS ANGELES — Makenzie Brandon (Seattle) and Elizabeth Messick (Reno, Nev.) flirted with triple-doubles and all 13 suited Occidental College women's basketball players scored in the team's best statistical showing in recent memory, a 110-20 rout of Red River College of Winnipeg, Canada at Rush Gymnasium on Saturday.

Brandon tied her season high with 32 points, along with 10 assists, eight rebounds and four steals. Messick, who's been two blocks shy of a triple-double on two different occasions already this season, finished with 14 points, 11 boards and seven steals.

It is the largest margin of victory for any Oxy women's basketball team (90) on record and second in points scored only to the 2007-08 Tigers squad that beat Pacific Union 112-26 on Nov. 17, 2007.

Kristen Treat (Riverside) made sure every player got into the books with a pair of free throws with 2:10 left in the game that made it 105-16.

The Rebels didn't break double digits until Abby Silva hit a three pointer to make it 64-11 with 17:25 left in the game.

"There were some great individual performances tonight, we got a lot of different players some experience and we're happy to get a team victory," Occidental College women's basketball coach Anahit Aladzhanyan said.

Ashton Reid (Los Angeles) had a career-high 14 points and seven rebounds, Drew Van Vleck(Ashland, Ore.) had seven points and eight rebounds and Stefanie Young (Hong Kong) added seven points.

The Tigers forced 33 turnovers, 26 of them steals, many coming out of their trapping 1-3-1 zone defense. On the other side of the court, they took care of the ball, dishing out 26 assists to just 14 turnovers. Liz Little (Littleton, Colo.) had six assists and Marquisha Corley (Tucson, Ariz.), Michelle Naito-Lo (Monterey Park), and Van Vleck each had two.

Katelyn Rowe (Carlsbad) and Brittni Walker (Castaic) both made their return to Oxy's lineup after missing the first seven games of the season studying abroad during the first semester. Rowe, who was a First Team All-SCIAC forward for the Tigers last season, scored six points, had three blocks and five rebounds in 13 minutes played.

Oxy continues the Tiger/Panther Classic against Worcester St. at 5 p.m. on Sunday. The Lancers lost to Chapman 60-48 on Saturday in Game 1 of the tournament.
