DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College sophomore forward Brenna Coll scored 20 of her career-high 27 points in the first half as part of a 56-point explosion in the Aggies' 84-63 triumph over visiting Penn State Brandywine.

Delaware Valley, which is playing five home games over an eight-day span, improved to 2-5 on the year. The run of games began yesterday and continues next on Wednesday when the team hosts Haverford College. Penn State Brandywine saw its record drop to 3-4.

The Aggies trailed early, 7-6, before they scored 10 straight – seven by Coll - and never looked back. The Lions hit a 3-pointer to end the run, but Delaware Valley responded with 20 of the game's next 28 points for a 36-18 advantage with 9:05 remaining. The Aggies then ended the half with another 10-0 run, including eight by freshman guard Bridget Sobon, to take a 56-27 lead into the break. They connected on 22 of 42 shots (52.4%) from the field and forced 13 turnovers.  

Delaware Valley built the advantage to as many as 30 in the second half and Penn State Brandywine never got closer than 21 points over those final 20 minutes. Eleven Aggies played 12 or more minutes with nine hitting the scoring column.

Coll led the way as she was 10-for-16 from the field (2-for-4 from 3-point land) and 5-for-7 from the foul line for her largest scoring output in a Delaware Valley uniform. She also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out three assists in 30 minutes of action.

Sobon, who played in just her second game of the year after missing the first five with an injury, was 6-for-9 from the field and finished with 15 points in 16 minutes. Senior forward Emily Soper recorded her fifth, double-double of the year as she had 13 points and 10 boards. Freshman guard Eireann Anastasi added 11 points and seven assists while sophomore forward Shannon Barlow had eight points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Amanda Congialdi ended the evening with 15 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Lions. Brandy Flowers scored 11 points while Emily Lawry Thompson hauled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
