ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.--The Hood College women's basketball team (3-4, 2-2 Commonwealth) dropped a 73-46 Commonwealth Conference decision to the Elizabethtown College Blue Jays (2-6, 1-4 Commonwealth) Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Jays strung together a 21-2 run over a span of more than nine minutes in the second half which proved to be the decisive spurt in the game. After trailing by as many as 15 in the opening stanza, Hood closed to within eight when Olivia Hosch dished to Sarah Marcello for a jumper in the final minute and the Blazers trailed by nine, 29-20, at intermission.

Elizabethtown tallied 19 of its 44 second-half points at the foul line, hitting 19-of-22 from the stripe. Hood hauled in a season-high 56 rebounds and bested the Blue Jays on the boards by seven, however Elizabethtown forced 36 Hood miscues and picked off 25 steals on the day.

Hood was led offensively by Dyanna Prater and Shakara Head who netted eight points apiece. Head also contributed six rebounds and blocked five shots, a season-high for her. Prater tallied five assists and, in the process, moved into a tie for fourth place on Hood's career assists chart (282) with Melissa Kolb '04. She is 10 helpers away from tying Dana Shook '07 for third place.

Alexis Andrukat notched a career-high five points, including her first three-pointer in a Blazer uniform, while Rachel Wiley contributed five points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Hosch matched her career-best with five boards and Arianna Delerme grabbed three rebounds and had three assists on the day.

Elizabethtown had three players in double figures, led by Kat Fogel's game-high 15.

Hood returns to action for a pair of nonconference home games Saturday and Sunday against Guilford College and Roanoke College, both at 2 p.m.
