GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Guilford College built a 27-point lead deep into the second half and coasted to a 76-65 win over visiting Hollins University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's basketball action Tuesday night.  The win keeps the Quakers (18-5, 15-3 ODAC) in contention for a possible number-one seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament.

Sophomore Morgan King recorded a game-high three blocked shots to go along with her 13 points and five rebounds for the Quakers.  She was joined by classmate Gabby Oglesby, who added 12 points and shared a game-high with seven rebounds. Senior Jazlyn Gibbs led all scorers with 14 points.

Hollins (9-14, 7-11 ODAC) repeatedly saw Guilford build big leads, before cutting into them with runs of its own.  A three-pointer by Hollins' Lacie Forrest cut the Quakers' lead to 10 with 5:55 left in the first half.  However Guilford outscored Hollins, 14-5, in the final 5:30 to take a 46-27 halftime lead.

The Quakers built their lead to as many as 27 points with under eight minutes to go in the second half, but Hollins rallied again, holding Guilford to just three points in the final 7:28 closing the final gap to 11 points.

Lauren Morris finished the night with 14 points and seven rebounds for Hollins. Forrest and Britney Campbell both tallied nine points and Jasmine Greene added eight.

Guilford returns to action this weekend in its final two ODAC games of the regular season.  On Friday (2/17), the Quakers host Bridgewater College at 7:00 p.m. Guilford defeated Bridgewater, 63-62, in overtime on the road earlier in the season. Eastern Mennonite University comes to Ragan-Brown Field House for a 4:00 p.m. game Saturday (2/18). The Quakers are tied for second place in the ODAC standings with Eastern Mennonite, but the Royals own the tie-breaker having defeated Guilford earlier in the season, 60-50.
