DePauw Picks Up 20th Straight Win in Victory at Oberlin

Fourth-ranked DePauw closed the first half by scoring 20 straight points to pull away from Oberlin on the way to a 70-39 North Coast Athletic Conference road victory.

The Tigers improved to 21-1 overall and 14-0 in the NCAC with its 20th straight win, while the Yeowomen dropped to 6-18 overall and 3-12 in conference play. The 20-game win streak matches the third longest in school history.

DePauw never trailed in the contest, but only led by three, 15-12, with just under nine minutes to play in the first half. Ali Ross nailed a three-pointer with 6:49 left which started a 20-0 run and gave the Tigers a 35-12 halftime lead.

Oberlin was within 19 at 45-26 with 13:21 remaining, but DePauw scored eight of the game's next nine points to expand the margin to 26.

Alex Gasaway led DePauw with 18 points, while Katie Aldrich followed with 14 and Kathleen Molloy added 10. Ellie Pearson paced the Tigers with eight rebounds and four steals. Kate Walker and Kathryn Denbow each dished out three assists.

Kelly Warlich led Oberlin with 17 points, while Christina Marquette scored 12 and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. 

DePauw shot just 36.6 percent from the field, but committed just 11 turnovers and held a 47-35 rebounding edge. Oberlin connected on 25.5 percent from the floor and turned the ball over 22 times.

The Tigers return home on Wednesday for the final regular season home game as they host Wittenberg at 6 p.m.
