WESTON, Mass. – Elms College senior forward Erika Murphy (Torrington, Conn.) totaled a team-high 14 points, but Regis College's Stephanie Crawford (Rockland, Mass.) and Emilee Marro (Beford, N.H.) netted a game-high 16 points to help pace the Pride to a 64-40 win over the Blazers in Saturday afternoon's New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's basketball game in Weston, Mass.

With the loss, Elms falls to 16-7 overall, 13-3 in league action, while Regis improves to 20-4 overall and remains unbeaten in NECC play with a 17-0 mark.

In a game the Pride never trailed, Elms tied  the game early on at 2-2 on a basket by sophomore guard Emily Boucher (Ashburnham, Mass.) before the Pride went on a 9-0 run to take an 11-2 lead capped by a three-point play by Sabree Rodriguez (Brockton, Mass.).

Claire Ramonas (Portland, Maine) gave Regis its largest lead of the half at 31-16 when she corralled a Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) miss as the shot clock expired and laid it home with 3:08 remaining in the opening frame.

Elms ended the half on a 6-0 run – including a jumper as time expired from Murphy – to set the score at  31-22 at halftime.

Marro led the Pride at the half with 10 points and six rebounds, while Rodriguez and Crawford each chipped in six points. Elms was led by a 12-point effort from Murphy and seven rebounds from freshman forward Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.). Parks and Jennifer Normandie (Westford, Mass.) added four points each in the opening 20 minutes of play.

Trailing by 13 points early in the second stanza, Blazers' senior guard Carolyn Talmadge (Wilbraham, Mass.) nailed a step-back three-pointer Murphy added a mid-range jumper to cut the lead back to single digits at 37-29 with 12:41 remaining in regulation.

Regis stretched its lead back to 12, before back-to-back jumpers by Normandie and Talmadge narrowed the deficit to eight before the Pride used an 8-0 run with baskets by four different players to make it a 16 point game (49-33) with 7:18 showing on the clock.

Regis won the rebounding battle 44-37 while forcing 21 Elms missteps, which the Pride converted into 27 points. The Pride also dominated points in the paint, 34-10, while outscoring the Blazers on the fast break, 12-0.

Crawford and Marro led all scorers with 16 points apiece. Marro also added nine rebounds to go with two steals and two assists. Ramonas posted her second-straight double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds and added a game-high four steals.

Murphy led Elms with 14 points, while Parks had nine points and 13 rebounds. Normandie came off the bench to chip in six points and three rebounds, while sophomore guard Ellen Donohue (Southington, Conn.) swiped a team-high three steals and added three assists.

Elms returns to NECC play on Wednesday, Feb. 15 when it travels to Leicester, Mass. for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with Becker College. The Blazers will look to set a new program record for wins (17) in Wednesday's contest against the Hawks.
