SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Western New England junior guard Emily Savino (Ellington, CT) was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week on Tuesday (Jan. 31).

She also made the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Division III weekly honor roll and was voted to the d3hoops.com National Team-of-the-Week.

Savino sparked the Golden Bears to a pair of wins by averaging 22.5 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 63.0% from the field (17-for-27), including 70.0% from three-point territory (7-for-10).

She netted 19 points (7-for-11 FG, 5-6 three-pointers) and had three assists in a 70-48 victory over Gordon. Savino then poured in 26 points with seven rebounds (both season highs) in a 65-45 win at Nichols.

With Savino helping to lead the way, Western New England has won four of its last five contests to move into a tie for fourth in the conference.

The Golden Bears (8-10, 7-4 CCC) visit Salve Regina (11-7, 8-3 CCC) at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Newport, Rhode Island.
