Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team put on an impressive performance on Saturday afternoon, as they never trailed in a 68-39 win over visiting CCNY.  The win was the Bulldog's seventh straight victory, upping the team's overall record to 15-5 and keeping the team undefeated in the conference at 8-0.  The Beavers fall to 3-16 on the season, while running their conference mark to 1-5.

"I thought that the bench played very well in today's win," said BC Head Coach Alex Lang.  "I think that with every game our chemistry is growing and we are developing a better understand of how to play together."

The team did just that in today as all 13 players who suited up saw action in the game and 11 got into the scoring column.

Junior center Tiffany Thompson opened the scoring for Brooklyn as she followed her own missed shot on the game's first possession.  The basket ignited what would be a 19-0 run to start the contest as CCNY would not score until the 9:07 mark when Syreeta Williams would get fouled and convert on both attempts.

BC would  follow with a 6-0 run of their own to increase their lead to 23 with 7:18 remaining in the period.  The visitors would not go quietly as they would end the half on a 16-9 run of their own to close the deficit to 16, 34-18, as the teams entered the locker room.

Senior guard Laurent Plagainos would lead all scorers at the break with nine points as she knocked down three shots from behind the arc.

The Bulldogs would waste no time in the second half as they immediately went on a 16-4 run, capped by two Melissa St. Louis free throws, to build the lead to 50-22.   A Nicole Francomano three-pointer would give Brooklyn their largest lead of the game at 31, with 4:38 to play.

Plagainos led all scorers with 14 points, while also adding four steals and four assists in 26 minutes of play.  Francomano had a game-high seven assists to go along with nine points and three steals, while failing to commit a turnover.

Charnelle Saint Laurent added seven points while Thompson had five points and six boards in limited action.  Melissa St. Louis had a team-high seven boards to go along with four points and two assists off the BC bench while freshman reserveforward Asia Foster chipped in with six points.

Williams led City with 12 points and eight boards.

Brooklyn will head back on the road for a CUNYAC South Division contest at Medgar Evers College.  The game will begin at 6 pm as a part of a doubleheader with the men's team.
