HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (January 18, 2012) – The Cyclones began the second half of the season with a 64-33 win over the Philadelphia Biblical University Crimson Eagles, using a combination of a strong defense and a balanced offense in which every Cyclone scored, to improve to 11-5 on the season and 5-3 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

Centenary started strong after falling behind on an initial three point basket by PBU's Sara Poole. The Cyclones scored the next 12 points, using five points from junior Danielle Trucksess (Collingswood, N.J./Collingswood) to secure a lead Centenary would not relinquish.

The Cyclones would build their lead, stretching the difference to ten points when sophomore Melissa Kukoda (Spotswood, N.J./Spotswood) drove the lane for a layup putting Centenary up 16-6. The Cyclones, who would force 28 Crimson Eagles' turnovers, used steals by senior Jasmine Rosa (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) and junior Kellie Rose (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) to continue expanding the lead. The Cyclones scored 16 points off turnovers in the first half, taking a 31-14 lead into the intermission.

Centenary came out of the half and continued to control the tempo. Senior Jen Vasta (Boonton, N.J./Boonton) scored six of her ten points in the first five minutes of the second half, helping put the Cyclones up by 22. The Crimson Eagles continued to struggle to find shooting opportunities as the Cyclones worked the clock until the final seconds ticked away with Centenary feeling good about a 64-33 victory.

"It was good conference win that keeps on us on pace with the pack headed into the end of the season and into the playoffs," said Head Coach Justin Phoenix. "The seniors played well tonight, and everybody contributed and everybody scored. It was a good solid team win."

The Cyclones will take to the road for a CSAC game against Notre Dame of Maryland University on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1 pm, before hosting Neumann University on Wednesday, Jan. 25th.
