#7 DePauw Makes it 11 Straight with Win at Kenyon

Seventh-ranked DePauw held Kenyon to just six points over the final five minutes and collected its 11th straight win with a 69-60 victory over the Ladies.

The Tigers improved to 12-1 overall and 5-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while Kenyon dropped to 11-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

The teams were tied at 54-54 after Kenyon's Morgan Korinek scored with 5:50 left. DePauw's Emma Ondik (pictured left) followed with a three-pointer and Kenyon was unable to convert on its next possession.

Kate Walker expanded the lead to five, but missed the free throw for a possible three-point play. The Tigers retained possession and Ellie Pearson followed with a basket with 4:02 left to cap a 7-0 run and give DePauw a 61-54 lead. Kenyon got no closer than five the rest of the way.

The game was tight throughout, but DePauw did grab an eight-point halftime lead at 36-28. Kenyon took a one-point lead on a couple of occasions with the last coming at 52-51 with just under seven minutes left.

Ondik notched a career-high with 14 points, while Pearson and Ali Ross each added 13 and Kathleen Molloy followed with 12. Pearon added a game-high 11 rebounds for a double-double. Kathryn Denbow led the way with three assists.

Kayla Ernst paced Kenyon with 16 points followed by Korinek with 13, Autumn Anderson with 12 and Maureen Hirt 10. Korinek led the way with six rebounds and Maggie Boelter handed out two assists.

DePauw shot 52.8 percent from the floor and hit 7-of-17 three-pointers, while Kenyon connected on 51.1 percent from the field and made 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. The Tigers held a 33-23 advantage on the boards leading to a 21-13 edge in second-chance points.
